Scarlet Samurai Part 1
Old Man Logan finds himself in a familiar area of Tokyo. As he thinks about the time he spent there in the past, he comes upon a group of local hoods that the mutant finds a lot tougher to take down than he’s used to. Especially since they regrow limbs almost as fast as Logan can hack them off. After taking them out the old-fashioned way, Logan singles one out to get some answers.
His information leads to the Yashida Corporation as one of its employees attempts to steal some experimental serum from the lab. He’s confronted by his boss Silver Samurai who wants information on who the buyer is. Logan catches up with the gang using the stolen serum and he proceeds to get information from the group’s leader in the only way he knows how.
Back at Yoshida Corp, Silver Samurai has another problem he needs to face; an attack by The Hand. As he takes on the ninjas and their leader Gorgon, Silver Samurai has another problem lurking in the shadows with designs on his company and his life.
Old Man Logan has always been a little hit or miss with me, but this issue was enjoyable because it reminded me of the Logan stories I enjoyed with him in Japan and dealing with the Yashida clan. Brisson and Deodato Jr do a great job of giving the issue a gritty look and feel that are enjoyably nostalgic. I’m interested to see what happens next.
