The Rundown: Kamala Khan will find herself in the middle of a growing conspiracy.
In the wake of Krakoa, Kamala Khan is returning to her regular life as a student and a hero. A life that will bring her into the city to begin taking classes alongside one of the Stepford Cukoos and given by Prodigy. After class, Kamala and her new friend decide to hit the town where they see the tension between mutants and humans continues to exist and is increasing due to a series of attacks.
After deciding to investigate an anti-mutant group, Kamala finds that she is not the only mutant on the hunt and she finds herself in the middle of a battle with a dangerous entity called the Krakoan who is part of a much larger conspiracy.
The Story: Lanzing and Kelly deliver an interesting new mystery in this series. Putting the focus on Kamala is a great choice and the reader has a wonderful look at this new and dangerous world through her eyes as she navigates being a mutant and a hero in a tense world both with humanity and with her fellow mutants. There is some great action in the story and the events lead to an interesting reveal that makes me excited to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Martarino delivers some great art in the issue. I love the vibrant visual style and how it wonderfully details both the characters and the action.
