The Rundown: Emory and the rest of Sundog fight to reach Eos, but an old enemy stands in their way.
Sundog finds their trip to Eos interrupted by the return of Blacktop Bill who has a proposition for the team. A proposition that will include a revelation of how he returned and what will happen if they join him. Emory’s response is less than subtle as the team moves closer to their goal.
At the same time, Emory thinks back on his past and the emotions he dealt with as he travels to confront the parents who abandoned him. In the present, the group finds their destination, but getting inside could be even more dangerous.
The Story: I love the evolution of Emory in this new arc and how the story gives him more to do and more to become. Snyder does a great job of ramping up the tension in the story as well as providing a wonderful emotional balance with the flashbacks. The action is fantastic and Snyder does a fantastic job of keeping the reader engaged through every moment right up to the unexpected and surprising cliffhanger reveal.
The Art: Tony S. Daniel delivers beautiful art on every page of the issue. The characters are dynamic and brilliantly detailed and the environments are visually engaging throughout.
