The Rundown: Piper does something desperate to help her friends and betrayal will mean not everyone makes it out alive.
In order to save her friends, Piper shuts down power to the complex allowing for giant Shades to attack. At the same time, Val and her forces fight their way out as Blacktop Bill faces off against his rival. A battle long time coming.
In the aftermath, Bill gets the upper hand, literally, and uses the confusion of the battle to make his next move. One that will prove where his loyalties actually lie. With the location of Eos compromised to the Shades, Val and the others have to race to escape, but with their way out cut off, one of them will have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save the others.
The Story: Snyder brings this arc to an epic and explosive conclusion with a story filled with great tension, terror and action. The energy of the story is electric and kept me engaged with every page. I love the themes of family and sacrifice throughout the issue and how all of those themes come together to deliver some emotional gut punches to the reader including an ending that is exciting and surprising.
The Art: Daniel delivers some beautifully detailed art on every page of this issue. The character designs, the locations and the backgrounds are filled with visuals that draw the eye and the imagination.
