The Rundown: While Ben investigates the murder of his son, Julia has a run in with No/One.
Ben’s abrupt announcement of his retirement sends shockwaves through the department and they want answers about what he knows about No/One. At the same time, a violent act rocks the city and things get even more tense when the DA decides not to prosecute.
At the same time, Julia has issues with someone close to her and her continued investigation into No/One through her podcast will get the attention of a violent individual as well as No/One himself.
The Story: The mystery is getting deeper and both Higgins and Buccellato do a great job of crafting the narrative, making the characters interesting and the mystery engaging enough to keep coming back for more. There is some great rising tension throughout the story and it continues to hold my interest as well as the entertaining companion podcast that fleshes out the characters and their circumstances more.
The Art: Borges creates some great, stylish art throughout the issue. The action is visually engaging and the character moments are intimate and entertaining.
