The Rundown: Nightwing and the Bat Family battle against the Magistrate and Seer.
The aftermath of the Clock Tower explosion is shown. Soon, the members of the Bat Family discover that Cassie and Steph were unaffected by the happenings. Then, Nightwing, Robin, and Oracle reunite with the two Batgirls and the group make plans to stop Seer and Simon Saint’s tyranny. Later, the group uses some interesting tactics to board Skybase 01. Once there, they are involved in a series of violent encounters. Then, the Bat Family makes a surprising counter move that changes the Magistrate’s ability to monitor Gotham. Finally, someone important makes their escape.
The Story: Taylor crafts another exciting and compelling chapter in this series. There are some really interesting story points, including an unusual encounter with Seer that may be missed on the first read through. Also, I really enjoyed seeing the Batgirls reunited with Robin and Nightwing. I appreciate the way that Taylor is able to effortlessly include these characters without minimizing Dick Grayson’s presence. The teamwork within this group is flawless, and their care for each other is evident. Also, the lead in to the upcoming “Batgirls” series was not lost on me. I can’t wait to find out what happens next for these characters.
The Art: This visually appealing issue is filled with energy. The fast pace and multitude of action sequences is engaging and fun. I felt completed transported throughout the pages.
