The Rundown: Newburn and Emily’s latest case could end up being their last.
In the wake of Albano putting out a hit on Newburn, Emily is called in to the Castle to answer for what happened with Mario. At the same time, Albano’s men meet with an unfortunate end at the hands of Newburn who tells them that he’s coming for them.
When Emily discovers who has been working with Albano, she is forced to finally tell the whole truth about what happened in her past and Newburn uses his skills and some dark leverage to bring Albano and his men out of the hiding to a final meeting with both their fates in the balance.
The Story: Zdarsky delivers an action filled conclusion to this arc. Everything awesome about the character of Newburn is brought to bear in this issue and there is enough action, mystery and betrayal throughout this story that every moment makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Phillips delivers some fantastic action throughout the issue. The story is filled with great noir elements and the art captures them visually for the reader.
