Amazon has released the first full trailer for their latest original series The Tick, based on the comic series from Ben Edlund.
The trailer maintains the humor of both the Edlund comic book series as well as the original pilot that was showcased on Amazon Prime. The series stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the titular hero The Tick along with his sidekick, former accountant and reluctant hero Arthur played by Griffin Newman (Vinyl). The trailer shows The Tick‘s nigh-invulnerable exterior as he takes a lot of damage and comes back for more. It also shows the humor in Arthur’s inability to master his super suit and reluctance to do anything other than run from danger.
Ben Edlund, who created the characters, will serve as Executive Producer on the series as well as writing the first episode. Edlund has also written episodes of Firefly, Angel, Supernatural and The Venture Brothers. The series also stars Valorie Curry, Jackie Earle Haley, Yara Martinez, Brendan Hines, Scott Speiser and Michael Cerveris.
