Rumors have persisted since Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige stated that Charlie Cox is his Daredevil, that the Man Without Fear would be making his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the end of his Netflix series. Those rumors intensified with Cox’s cameo as Daredevil’s alter-ego Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Now it looks like the rumors are true.
Variety is reporting exclusively that they have confirmed that a new Daredevil live action series is in the works for Disney Plus. According to the article, Matt Corman and Chris Ord have been brought in to write and executive produce the series. Corman and Ord are the creators and executive producers behind the series Covert Affairs and the NBC espionage series The Brave.
Charlie Cox has made no secret about his desire to return to the role of the masked vigilante and the Hawkeye series recently confirmed the MCU presence of Daredevil’s nemesis Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio from the former Netflix series. With former Kingpin protégé Maya Cox aka Echo (Alaqua Cox) getting her own series, a new Daredevil series is the perfect next move for Marvel to showcase its street level heroes.
