As the energy from the Dark Multiverse begins to merge with Earth, the New Challengers find themselves falling through different dimensions as Prof continues with his plan to merge his team from his dimension with the Challengers from ours. Moses looks on thinking about the chance to actually witness the unknown up close as his new team, especially Krunk feel betrayed by his actions. They decide to fight their way back as Prof puts the next part of his plan into action.
Moses has a decision to make about who he is going to be loyal to. He needs to decide who to trust and what that will mean for his team and the world going forward. He gets some pretty profound exposition in this issue that allows the reader to know more about the character and his motivations. When the New Challengers finally emerge and take on the originals, Moses makes a choice that will change all of their lives.
For the final issue of this series, there were elements that I wish were explored further. I would have liked to see the characters evolve more and see how their pasts shaped their adventures to come. Given more time, I think those things would have happened, but because they didn’t, the finale seemed rushed in its pacing It wasn’t bad, but there were significant portions of the story that felt like things were missing for the sake of pacing. I wish the story had a few more issues to help establish the team better, but you never know what could happen in the future.
Marion’s art is really good. There are some great details in both the characters and backgrounds that helped to move the story forward. The action scenes were really exciting and I hope Marion gets to draw these characters again in the future.
