In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will get a new look at the upcoming film Black Panther.
The Comic-Con issue of Entertainment Weekly features new images from the upcoming Black Panther film starring Chadwick Boseman and directed by Ryan Coogler. The film, according to Coogler, will feature not only action, but also politcal intrigue as well with factions vying for the throne by challenging the newly crowned King T’Challa following the death of King T’Chaka (T’Challa’s father) during the events of Captain America: Civil War.
T’Challa (Boseman) will have to face his own feelings of guilt at not being able to save his father while also fending off threats from both the outside and within Wakanda itself. The images show many of the principal cast including Lupita N’yogo, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, Forrest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan and Andy Serkis. Take a look at the images and let me know what you think.
After the events of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country’s new leader. However, T’Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
Black Panther will rule the box office February 16, 2018.
