Netflix announced today that it has entered into an agreement with video game developer Ubisoft to develop a live action series based on one of its most popular franchises.
According to Netflix, the streaming service and Ubisoft Film & Television will be developing a live action series based on the Assassin’s Creed series of games. The agreement also allows for the creation of animated and anime series based on the world and its characters as well.
“For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise,” said Jason Altman, Head of Ubisoft Film & Television – Los Angeles. “We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”

Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers. Netflix is currently looking for a showrunner for the series.
