According to reports in Variety and others, The Rain has been renewed for a second season on Netflix.
The Rain is a post-apocalyptic drama about the events that take place six years after a deadly virus carried by the rain wipes out almost all of the population of Scandinavia. Danish siblings Simone (Alba August) and Rasmus (Lucas Lynggaard Tonneson) emerge from their protected bunker to join a group of young survivors and set out across a devastated landscape to find any sign of civilization as they struggle to survive this new dangerous world.
No word yet from creators Jenny Ann Balverde, Esben Toft Jacobsen and Christian Potalivo on what viewers can expect from the second season. The first season of The Rain is currently streaming on Netflix.
