Netflix Releases Cast Announcement for Squid Game: Season 2
It’s back. The groundbreaking, top streaming Netflix series of all time has released its formal Cast Announcement via its YouTube channel “Neflix K-Content.” The wildly anticipated Season 2 will bring back the familiar faces of actors Lee Jung-Jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-Jun and Gong Yoo. The video also introduces four new Squid Game players: Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun.
This 1min 45 second video is minimalistic and dialogue free. It opens with the eerie “Red Light, Green Light” song and features clips from Season 1 along with the returning cast. The clip then goes on to introduce the game players by having them select the signature red or green buttons at a lone podium. It finally ends with a chilling shot of The Salesman before the title shot appears as a finale.
Although no verified plot points have been released, the return of Wi Ha-Jun’s character Hwang Jun-Ho is sure to spark a myriad of speculation. Also, fans of the international superstar Gong-Yoo are sure to be pleased by his return, as many have hoped that his cameo in the original season will be expanded.
