Fans of Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman have been eagerly anticipating any news of the renewal of the series and today we got some.
According to Deadline, Netflix has renewed the series for a second season on the streaming platform. The news comes amid a series of leaks and rumors of cancellation of the series prompting Sandman creator Neil Gaiman to debunk the rumors on Twitter and Netflix to release the information today.
With the first season of the series covering the first volume of stories called Preludes and Nocturnes, the second season of the series could follow Season of Mists which would find Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) becoming the owner of Hell, the dead returning to Earth, a gathering of gods, demons and others for the disposition of real estate and the return of an old love. Many of the seeds of the story have been planted in the first season and it will be interesting to see how the production utilizes them in season two.
