The Rundown: Nemesis and his new partner are ambushed and he discovers the identity of the man leading the hunt for him.
Nemesis and his partner Rook are trapped by a group of mercenaries that Nemesis realizes is comprised of people he has wronged in his past. A group that will do anything to kill him and his new partner. As the dup make a daring escape, Nemesis realizes that the attack was a distraction for the real attack that he barely avoids.
In the aftermath, Nemesis begins the next part of his plan, but he is aware of who is after him as the man reveals to his team exactly who he is, his history with Nemesis and why he wants the supervillain dead.
The Story: Millar continues to create a story filled with thrills, action and surprises. There are some really tense moments throughout the story and I continue to enjoy not really knowing who to root for within it. Everyone is compromised, no one is completely good and everyone’s motivations lean towards the selfish and that complexity keeps me coming back to this series. I loved the reveal in the story a lot and cannot wait to see what the implications of it are on the rest of the story and the character of Rook.
The Art: Giangiordano delivers fantastic art throughout the story. I love the visual style and how it beautifully frames the characters and the action.
