As the Inhumans storyline began to develop on the Marvel series, audiences were introduced to new Inhuman characters. When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. began the “Secret Warriors” arc, the audience was introduced to Elena Rodriguez aka Yo-Yo.

Yo-Yo became an intricate part of the team and the series and her arc prompted ABC and Marvel Studios to give the character, portrayed by actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley, a spinoff web series called Slingshot which has her character go on a secret mission before the events of the fourth season of the series. Not only did the popularity of the series win a Webby award, but it was also nominated for a primetime Emmy. If you’re a fan of the character and the actress, expect to see more of her in the upcoming season.

Natalia Cordova-Buckley has been moved up from guest star to series regular for the fifth season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Her character Yo-Yo has the Inhuman ability to move at super-speed for the duration of a heartbeat before being pulled back to the place she left from. In the fourth season of the series, she and Mack (Henry Simmons) took their flirtation further into a romantic relationship before she and the rest of the team were kidnapped and transported to outer space.

ABC has not released a return date for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5.
