The Rundown: It’s raining blood in Buckaroo and with it comes more revelations.
In the wake of another attack, Alice has gone missing. When her mother and the rest of the party go looking for her, they discover that the woods are raining blood. Blood that causes them to experience intense and dangerous hallucinations. Hallucinations that will cause Alice to travel down her own rabbit hole into the past.
As the people looking for the missing young woman deal with their own hallucinations, Alice finds herself back in time to see her father and mother as kids dealing with the game they created. When her father arrives to help snap her out of her hallucination, they both discover something in the woods that the Nailbiter has never seen before.
The Story: The plot continues to get more intense and more secrets are revealed in this issue. Joshua Williamson does a great job of bringing the characters to some new and interesting places physically and psychologically and the audience is brought along for the ride. Every revelation makes me more curious about the mystery at the heart of this story and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Mike Henderson delivers some beautiful artwork throughout this issue. There is an intensity to the images and the tone of the art perfectly captures the mood of the story.
