More images have emerged from Entertainment Weekly’s new issue featuring Captain Marvel star Brie Larson on the cover.
The first image shows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) suited up and ready to take on the threat of the intergalactic Skrulls.
The next image shows Danvers in civilian clothes, sporting a SHIELD cap. The film takes place in the 90’s so I expect there will be more fashions from the era in the film when it is released.
Jude Law takes on the role of Mar-Vell, a Kree warrior and head of the intergalactic Starforce. Described as the Seal Team Six of the galaxy, Mar-Vell recruits Carol to join the team.
This next shot shows the members of Starforce including Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan) and Korath (Djimon Hounsou). The team seems to be confronting Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace). Ronan was the main villain in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie with Korath playing his henchman.
The next shot features the villains of the film, the shape-shifting Skrulls. According to EW, the leader of the Skrull invasion force is Talos the Tamed. In the comics, Talos is one of the only Skrulls without the ability to shape-shift, but his prowess as a warrior makes him one of the deadliest in the universe. Ben Mendelsohn (Ready Player One) will be taking on the role.
The last shot features the 90’s era Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) sans eye patch and scars. This version of the super spy will be featured along with fellow SHIELD agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg).
Captain Marvel is expected to fly into theaters March 18, 2019.
