The Rundown: Theresa begins to accept who and what she is after confronting part of her past.
After confronting the strange events she was recently a part of, Theresa decides to drunkenly visit the one person she felt close to. After going to see her and seeing her new life, Theresa is taken home where she has to consider her time in her hometown.
After finally coming to terms with who and what she is after speaking to someone in town who gives her perspective, Theresa decides to pay a visit to someone she dismissed and that meeting allows her to think about her future in a new way.
The Story: Lemire crafts an entertaining and often uplifting story in this issue. I continue to be impressed with the characters and the premise of this series. The story is very somber and introspective and gives the reader a great way to feel more for Theresa as she comes to terms with her new reality. I like that the story takes the time to have those cerebral and emotional moments for the character and how those moments pay off.
The Art: Lemire’s art perfectly captures the tone and mood of the story being created. There is a wonderful visual quality to this story so many of the emotions in it are conveyed through the character’s movements of expressions.
