The Rundown: Theresa discovers there is another world beyond this one and doesn’t handle it very well.
After agreeing to give one of her mother’s clients a reading, Theresa finds herself in another world. One that is inhabited by the spirit of someone connected to the client. Someone who shows her that her mother is correct.
After discovering the other world and finding a way to return from it, Theresa has an unexpected reaction to the truth and her connection it. A reaction that will get the attention of someone who has been watching her.
The Story: Lemire infuses this follow up issue with some great drama and tension with Theresa at the heart of it. There are some interesting emotional moments with her on the other side and her emotional and supernatural journey is interesting to see. I enjoyed the conflict immensely and how it reveals that there are bigger conflicts happening around her while also centering on Theresa and her return. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Lemire delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. The visuals capture the surreal elements of the story as well as the intense drama between Theresa and her mother.
