Tom Cruise is all set to return as Maverick in the sequel to his hit film Top Gun and recently I reported that his rival in the first film Iceman, played by Val Kilmer, is returning as well.

Now there’s news that a new member of the cast has been announced.

According to a report in Deadline, actor Miles Teller has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel Top Gun: Maverick.

Teller will be playing the son of Maverick’s best friend and Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) Goose played in the first film by Anthony Edwards. No word yet on whether Meg Ryan, who played Goose’s wife, will have a role in the sequel.

Miles Teller is known for his roles in movies like Whiplash, War Dogs and Thank You for Your Service.
