The Rundown: The caravan runs into a huge problem on their way to rescue Abel and the others and the boy himself gets closer to enacting his escape plan.
Led by Jeb and Maggie, the caravan to rescue Abel and Bobby run into a problem when the bridge they need to travel north is washed out by a storm containing some unusual properties. In order to traverse the area, the group will have to enlist more help. The help comes in the form of a man familiar with the river and his help will allow Maggie to unlock some powerful magic.
At the same time, Abel and the rest of his crew begin the next phase of their plan to escape from Raider Farm. Using his position as a leader to find and take what he needs, he meets with the rest of his team to plan their next step, but they are missing one crucial piece.
The Story: Skottie Young continues to keep this story engrossing and engaging as the characters and the plot move forward at an exciting pace. Abel continues to evolve as a character and his confidence and intelligence are appealing as he grows emotionally. All of the characters are compelling and the tension makes this issue a fantastic read. The fact that there are more mysteries to uncover make this story consistently appealing.
The Art: Jorge Corona delivers across the board with the art in this issue. The details are amazing and the storm is beautiful to behold. The visuals throughout are fantastic and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
