Microsoft has announced a new VR headset to be released through partners such as HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, and ASUS. Microsoft’s VR headset will utilize inside-out tracking sensors that Microsoft explained as “the six-degree-of-freedom” tracking system, negating the need for external cameras or laser systems like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Adding to what sets the Microsoft VR Headset apart from the competition, it will also be offered at a lower price point of $299 which will make it a direct competitor not only in technology but cost as well.
