It looks like Warner Brothers is gearing up to take audiences on a trip through the DC universe with the upcoming Flash movie starring Ezra Miller.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers is in talks with Batman 89 star Michael Keaton to return to the role in the upcoming Flash film. Keaton played the Dark Knight in Tim Burton’s Batman and returned for the sequel Batman Returns before hanging up the cape and cowl. He hasn’t shied away from the world of superheroes though. He masterfully skewered the persona in Birdman as well as taking on the role of the villain Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. It also looks like he will be reprising his Vulture role for the upcoming Sony Spider-Man universe film Morbius.
Directed by IT’s Andy Muschietti, the latest rumors about the Flash film have the plot following the Flashpoint storyline where Barry’s decision to change the past dramatically alters the future. Playing with time could be the perfect way to explain Keaton’s older Bruce Wayne in the film. Both time travel and inter-dimensional travel could give the DC film universe the perfect way to course correct their timelines and stories going forward. THR also goes on to say that the role might be more than a cameo. Keaton is in talks to reprise the role in other upcoming DC films as a facilitator much in the way Samuel L Jackson brought heroes together in the Marvel Universe.
