It’s been seven years since the final Harry Potter movie was released in theaters and the world of the boy wizard has expanded both in books and films, but also in gaming.
It’s being reported that several of the stars of the Harry Potter film franchise will be lending their voices to the new Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery mobile game from Jam City and Warner Brothers Interavtice Entertainment.
The game will allow players to become a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy in the years before the events of the first novel. According to Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe, “Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts,” he said.
In order to add to that feel, DeWolfe and his team have brought in several voice actors from the films to recreate their characters for the game including Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith), Professor Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), Professor Flitwick (Warwick Davis), Madam Pince (Sally Mortemore), Madam Pomfrey (Gemma Jones) and Madam Hooch (Zoe Wanamaker).
“By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.” said DeWolfe.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be free to download across IOS and Android devices April 25th.
