The Rundown: Lady Hellaine and Goodwill are vulnerable, at risk and not alone in Woodsburgh.

The group that came to town hunting for Hellaine have her servant Goodwill and he will discover not only that they do not fear what he is, but they are using him to lure Hellaine to their camp.

The lady herself is getting weaker and must feed. After being taken to a local stable by her charge, she prepares herself only to be interrupted not only by the stable owner, but by the real Devil of Woodsburgh.

After a moment of violent revelation, Lady Hellaine will begin to remember another life with the help of a voice in her head. A voice that leads her to its lost love and more tragedy.

The story continues to unfold in ways I did not expect and every twist is both unexpected and satisfying. The characters are complicated and layered which makes the reader’s relationship with them just as complicated. The good guys are not all good and the bad guys are not without compassion and mercy of their own. Mirka Andolfo crafts an amazing, dark and engaging narrative in this issue and there is a moment towards the end of this issue that was a complete surprise and left me wondering where the story goes from here.

The Art: Andolfo infuses every panel of this issue with emotion both in the characters and the backgrounds. Every page and panel progression is beautifully rendered and the characters continue to be visually stunning. I found myself going over panels again and again because they were filled with awesome detail.
