It’s a mini-SNL reunion of sorts as some of the funniest ladies to grace Studio 8-H team up for the Amy Poehler directed comedy Wine Country coming to Netflix.
In honor of Rebecca (Rachel Dratch)’s 50th birthday, Abby (Amy Poehler) plans a scenic Napa getaway with their best, longtime friends. Workaholic Catherine (Ana Gasteyer), post-op Val (Paula Pell), homebody Jenny (Emily Spivey), and weary mom Naomi (Maya Rudolph) are equally sold on the chance to relax and reconnect. Yet as the alcohol flows, real world uncertainties intrude on the punchlines and gossip, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures.
Wine Country stars Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, Cherry Jones, and Maya Erskine, with Jason Schwartzman and Tina Fey. The film is written by Emily Spivey and Liz Cacowski from a story by Spivey, Cacowski and Poehler.
Wine Country premieres on Netflix May 10, 2019 after limited theatrical engagements on May 8th.
