Audiences at this year’s New York Comic Con got the first look at a new animated series coming to CW Seed.
Matt Ryan returns to the character that he brought to life on the small screen in the first season of Constantine on NBC. A fan favorite, Ryan has reprised the role in live action on an episode of Arrow on the CW. After the series was cancelled, Ryan returned to the role in animated form in the film Justice League: Dark. Ryan returns to the character in a new animated series for the CW Seed. A previous series based on the DC Comics character Vixen was featured on the site and led to the character jumping from animation to live action on Legends of Tomorrow. Could the Constantine animated series lead to the return of the character in live action? We’ll have to see.
John Constantine (voiced by the live-action series star Matt Ryan), a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line, Constantine uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows…maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all.
Constantine will premiere on CW Seed soon.
