In a sign of hope to fans of the recently cancelled Marvel Studios/Netflix series The Punisher and Jessica Jones, Marvel TV President Jeph Loeb penned a letter to fans.
The letter, which didn’t go into any specific plans for the cancelled shows, recounted the journey of bringing series like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher and Jessica Jones to the small screen. He talks about how ambitious is was, especially bringing all those characters together for The Defenders.
As well as thanking the stars, producers, showrunners, writers, directors and crew of the shows, Loeb goes on to thank the fans for making the shows popular.
Without announcing plans for the shows leaving Netflix, Loeb did end his letter with a cryptic remark about the possibility that these shows are not going to be gone forever saying;
Our Network partner may have decided they no longer want to continue telling the tales of these great characters… but you know Marvel better than that.
The letter ends with:
To be continued…!
With Disney set to pick up Fox’s assets as well as a 60% stake in rival streaming service HULU, we may not have heard the last of these characters.
