The Cimmerian adventurer, created by Robert E. Howard, has been published by many comic book companies over the years.
18 years after losing the license for the character, Conan the Barbarian will be returning to Marvel Comics. Marvel Entertainment and Conan Properties International announced an agreement to bring the hero back to the publisher starting in January 2019. Dark Horse Comics had held the license since 2003, even publishing collections of the Marvel Comics run.
Marvel’s new Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski released a statement saying; “From Barry Windsor-Smith to John Buscema to Neal Adams, a legendary lineup of amazing artists brought Conan to life in the pages of Marvel comics. It’s a legacy we’re now going to live up to with the talent we lave lined up for the Cimmerian barbarian’s homecoming in early 2019. We’re excited!”
No creative team has been named for the new title, but there should ne an announcement coming from the publisher soon.
