Mark Strong is ready to take another trip to the DC Universe.
Strong previously starred in a DC Comics movie Green Lantern when he took on the role of former Green Lantern turned villain Sinestro. According to several reports, Strong is in negotiations to play the villain in David F. Sandberg’s Shazam film. The film follows a boy named Billy Batson, who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word “Shazam!” The name is an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury, from which Batson derives his heroic attributes when in adult form.
Strong is in talks to play Dr. Thaddeus Sivana in the film. Sivana has a genius level intellect and is a brilliant inventor who is the long time arch-enemy of Shazam in the comics. Other casting announcements have been made for the film besides Zachary Levi taking on the title role and recently Grace Fulton (Annabelle: Creation) in an unknown role.
