The Rundown: In both the past and the present, dark secrets are about to be revealed.
In the past, a fire in the hedge maze will force Roman to use his powers to put it out with a watchful looking at events and planning. When he so to see his dead sisters, he realizes who is behind events and goes to confront his father only to find something darker waiting for him.
In the present, as the sheriff watches outside the ground of the manor house, Ari and Reginald venture deep into the burned out husk of the old manor and discover the source of the family’s power. A power that does not want Ari anywhere near it.
The Story: Bunn and Hurtt ramp up the tension in both parts of the story and they parallel beautifully to give the reader an immersive and compelling experience. The story has some great, intense character moments that draw you in as the events unfold and the twists within the story make it more engaging. I cannot wait to see where this story goes next.
The Art: Hurtt delivers some beautiful visuals throughout the issue. Both sides of the story look fantastic and the colors pop in the perfect places to emphasize mood.
