The Rundown: Roman Black will take on a rogue totem as he goes to rescue Ari and give the sheriff an ultimatum.
After confronting his family for their error in judgment, Roman leaves the safety of the manor to track down and help Ari. As he races to her location, he passes the sheriff who decides to follow.
At the same time, Ari is given a choice about how she will use the magic inside her. A choice she rejects as the totem increases in strength, power and destructive rage. When it escapes from its current host, it finds a new one and goes on a rampage out in the woods. It will be up to Ari and Roman to stop the creature and the take down the force seeking to control it.
The Story: Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt continue to tell an interesting and exciting story with this series. The characters are intriguing and the world that they are building is engaging. The story takes some interesting twists and turns as it ramps up the tension and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
The Art: Tyler Crook’s art style is a fantastic complement to the tone of this story.
