Deron GenerallyCasting continues on the live action Swamp Thing series for DC Universe and we have news about the casting of an important character from the DC Comics universe.
According to Deadline, actress Jeryl Prescott has been cast as Madam Xanadu in the upcoming series.
Madam Xanadu made her first appearance in comics in 1978. In the comics, Xanadu is blind, but possesses a keen ability to detect magic and magical forces. She is also immortal and has the ability to see into the future. According to the Deadline article; “On the upcoming show (as in the comics) Xanadu is a centuries-old immortal who advises and aligns with crusaders against evil but is reluctant to join the fray directly.”
The series will follow Abby Arcane as “she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets.”
Jeryl Prescott is known for her role as Jaqui in the first season of The Walking Dead as well as the role of Mama Cecile in the movie The Skeleton Key.
