The Rundown: Luke Cage discovers working within the system is not stopping the crime in his city.
Luke Cage continues to work within the system to stop crime in New York. Being hampered by an anti-vigilante act he cannot repeal as Mayor makes things infinitely harder especially when he attempts to intervene in a mercenary attack to save lives.
Cage decides to go back to his roots and pay a visit to some people who have information about the high-tech weapons flooding into the city. After getting a new suit and some vital information, Cage goes on the hunt for the dealer and discovers something interesting about his soldiers.
The Story: Barnes crafts an entertaining first issue and a welcome return of Luke Cage as a vigilante. I like seeing him get back to the streets and use his skills as both a hero and investigator to discover the truth. The story has some great tension throughout and it is mixed with moments of humor that make me want to come back and read more.
The Art: Bachs delivers some great art in the issue. The imagery beautifully captures the rising tension of the story and the action is thrilling.
