New Line Cinema and Aquaman Director James Wan are gearing up to reboot the Mortal Kombat franchise and they are currently negotiating for their lead actor.
According to an exclusive in Variety, Wan and New Line are in negotiations with actor Ludi Lin to take on the role of Liu Kang in the upcoming reboot of the film series based on the video game of the same name. Mortal Kombat was released by Midway in 1992 and Liu Kang was one of the original seven characters to grace the arcade screen.
Ludi Lin is known for his roles in films like Power Rangers and Aquaman. He recently played a Liu Kang style video game character in the Black Mirror episode Striking Vipers.
