The Rundown: Jake the Cowboy has an interesting run in with Joan that could change everything.
Joan finds herself at the tail end of another failed romance. One where she has finally decided to stop falling in love. Unfortunately, the cowboy arrives and fulfills his function of shooting her and moving her to another time and place. An act that is starting to effect him more and more.
After going through multiple scenarios with Joan, there comes a moment of recognition that could change everything about his mission. A change that will prompt the Cowboy to be sent to a meeting with the woman controlling everything behind the scenes.
The Story: A constantly engaging and immersive story from King. The story consistently creates amazing character moments while also creating an intricate and brilliantly done mystery that keeps me entertained with every issue. I love getting more into Jake’s story and the intricate emotions throughout. I am excited about where this story could go next.
The Art: Charretier delivers beautifully detailed and wonderfully immersive art in the issue. I love the visual style and how the imagery plays with the classic romance comic.
