The Rundown: Lois deals with another personal issue that will require someone close to her to make a hard choice and Renee catches up with an old friend.
After the awkward return of her son, Lois and Jon discuss his upcoming decision to join the Legion of Super Heroes in the future. After a heart to heart between mother and son, Jon reminds Lois why she means so much to him.
At the same time, Renee Montoya is catching up with Vic Sage aka The Question. The former partners discuss the last moment they were together and his apparent death. When Montoya gets a text from Lois to meet, she and the reporter discuss what the search for truth really means.
The Story: Greg Rucka takes the story down in intensity for this issue and it works. The plot takes a break from the growing mystery ensnaring Lois and gives her a moment to be the mother and reporter she really is. The dialogue is fantastic and the plot moves at a great pace. The conversation between Lois and Renee is a highlight as the former cop wants to learn more about what’s going on and Lois challenges whether she really wants to learn the truth.
The Art: Mike Perkins continues to deliver some amazing art in this issue. The tone of the art matches the film noir quality of the story.
