The Rundown: Jack races to save his mother while an enemy from his past plans for destruction.

An enemy from Jack’s past has bewitched the town of Farmington and is controlling everyone, including Jack’s mother. As they return to Jack’s family home to wait for the hero to arrive, Jack is dealing with the aftermath of learning what Inga did to his father.

As Jack leaves to deal with his old enemy and her plans for Farmington, Inga and her estranged husband come up with a plan that might give Jack a fighting chance, but it will cost one of them dearly.

The Story: Seeley and Fleecs deliver a great story in this issue. It’s filled with great action, surprises and thrills. As much as I enjoy the tension throughout the story and the call backs to classic comic book action from the nineties, its Jack’s very human foibles that keep me coming back to this series. There are some messed up things happening all around him and it is interesting to see him navigate them as well as the mistakes of his own past. A great story with an awesome cliffhanger finale.

The Art: Fleecs and Seeley deliver awesome art throughout the story. I continue to love the visual contrast between the past and present and how both are able to bring up different emotions.
