The Rundown: A man trying to live a normal life will have it upended when his true nature is revealed.
Jerome is trying live a simple life with his wife Sita and their daughter Joanne. A life that becomes more difficult as he contemplates the things he could be doing with his hidden powers while he tries to hold his crumbling marriage together.
After taking a shift at the local bar, Jerome finds his walk home interrupted by a being called a Shepherd who is tasked with bringing Jerome back to Hell. In the aftermath of their encounter, Jerome finds himself being thrust into the role of a Shepherd and facing his biggest danger, telling his wife what he really is.
The Story: Yarsky creates an interesting and entertaining premise in this first issue. I like the characters a lot and there are some interesting mysteries being teased in the story. I like the character of Jerome and want to know more about him as well as the family drama being very well done in the story. This is a fun, engaging and entertaining story that has definitely gotten my attention.
The Art: Yarsky delivers great art throughout the issue. I love the character designs and how the visual style works well for both the comedy and the family drama.
