The Rundown: Laura’s life is in jeopardy when the kids return to the city.

Laura remains in the city and witnesses all of the art that Romie has made through the years. Art that makes her curious about the young vampire’s story and why she doesn’t talk. Unfortunately, their bonding will have to wait as Billy and the others return and discuss what they plan to do next after tasting human blood.

Romie takes Laura to Yui and Lucas who decide to hide her until sunup. Unfortunately, an altercation with Billy about them violating the rules and leaving the city will lead to a revelation and the possible end of their found family.

The Story: Lemire continues to develop and craft a beautifully engaging and compelling story in this issue. There are some great moments from both sides of the conflict and the story does a wonderful job of building tension with every character moment. I love that the kids are starting to challenge each other and cannot wait to see what happens next.

The Art: Nguyen delivers some beautifully detailed and emotional art throughout the issue. The visuals are brilliant and draw in the reader emotionally.
