The Rundown: Romie attempts to protect Laura as Billy and the others fight for their lives.
As Fennick goes to war with the children, Romie realizes that it could all be over for them as the sun prepares to rise. When the kids get the upper hand, Lucas tries to stop Billy from going after Lara. An act that will cause Romie to take the human with her while Yui tries to stop Billy.
As things get more dangerous for Laura and Romie remembers the words of the Elders, she makes a decision that will change everything for them.
The Story: Lemire ramps up the tension, terror and action throughout this issue and brings all of the story elements and mythology to its inevitable conclusion. I was impressed with every twist and turn the story took and how the characters grow and evolve within it. The story is thrilling and there is a beautifully tragic undercurrent running through it that engages the reader and makes you care about these characters.
The Art: Nguyen delivers powerful art throughout the issue as the action takes some visually daring directions and builds up to a brilliant conclusion.
