Deron GenerallyWriter/Director Lexi Alexander is teaming up with fellow director Scott Derrickson on a new project for Blumhouse Television.
Alexander is known for directing films like Punisher: War Journal, Green Street Hooligans and Lifted. She’s also directed DC Comics shows like Arrow and Supergirl for the CW network.
Scott Derrickson is the writer/director of Doctor Strange for Marvel Studios as well as Sinister, Deliver Us From Evil and the upcoming Snowpiercer series.
Alexander and Derrickson will collaborate on a new series for Blumhouse Television titled “You Bury Me”. According to Variety, the series is an epic love story set against political turmoil n the Middle East. The series will be written by Alexander and both she and Derrickson will executive produce.
Co-president of Blumhouse Television Jeremy Gold released a statement about the series saying; “The ability to pair an industry veteran like Scott, with whom we have an established relationship, with a filmmaker like Lexi, provides us with a great opportunity to cultivate a new and compelling creative voice.”
Derrickson also commented on the new series stating; “Blumhouse is the perfect home for ‘You Bury Me,’” he said. “They are risk takers with a passion for good story and have a long track record for helping creators bring their vision to both the big and small screen.”
I can’t wait to hear more about this series when it gets into production and I will definitely be following it and reporting on it as well.
