The director of The Lego Batman Movie is being eyed by Paramount to direct a new potential fantasy franchise.

Director Chris McKay is in negotiations to direct a big screen adaptation of the fantasy role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons for the studio. New Line Cinema produced a horrible version of the game for cinemas back in 2000 starring Jeremy Irons, Thora Birch and Marlon Wayans.

McKay is currently working on directing the big screen adaptation of DC Comics Nightwing. Dungeons and Dragons has a release date of July 23, 2021.
