With two episodes left in the second season of FX’s Marvel Comics series Legion, the sophomore series got some welcome news.
FX handed the series based on the Marvel Comics character a third season renewal. This continues the network’s relationship with creator Noah Hawley, who has been praised for his unorthodox take on the Marvel series.
FX president of original programming Eric Schrier announced the news of the renewal with Nick Grad stating; “Legion has redefined the superhero drama and exceeded all expectations as the intensity and revelation build through the second season,” he said. “We are incredibly proud of Noah Hawley’s achievement and are honored to continue the series as it pushes the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. We are also grateful for the contributions of our executive producers, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loeb with Marvel Television, as well as our outstanding cast and crew of this groundbreaking show.”
Hawley serves as executive producer on the series that stars Dan Stevens as a man in a sanitarium who discovers that he has powers brought on by his mutant genes. Legion was created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz and the series is produced by John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Jeph Loeb.
