The Rundown: Mechanika’s mission will bring her face to face with some local legends.
Lady Mechanika finds herself struggling in a dark nightmare that she doesn’t know is being caused by a mischievous local legend whose counterpart warns it to leave her alone. As both figures disappear, Mechanika is found by a group of escaped prisoners who nurse her back to health and tell her their stories.
In the wake of a deadly encounter, Mechanika finds herself wandering the woods with her companions before finding the village they seek and learning more about the creature she could be facing at the bottom of the lake.
The Story: Benitez and Chen craft a thrilling, entertaining story that continues to build an intricate, complicated and deeply engaging world for Mechanika. I like the lore elements a lot and how they connect to her as well as the other characters she encounters. There are some thrilling and emotional moments within the story as well and the story brings everything to an entertaining cliffhanger that makes me excited to see what happens next.
The Art: Oum offers some beautifully detailed and vibrant art. Not only are the visuals amazing, but the colors bring every moment and emotion to life.
