The Rundown: Sophia and her friends battle against firelight witches, while the crew at The Baltimore Estate must deal with a formidable enemy.
Sophia and company survive an aerial encounter with the Hexenkorps. After a deadly showdown, the group flee to Cesky Krumlov. Once their, they discover the townspeople have knowledge of a mysterious being. And the history of a saint is revealed. Meanwhile, the team at The Baltimore Estate battle against a powerful witch and are faced with something unexpected.
The Story: Mignola and Golden offer another exciting chapter in this series. This is a content heavy work that provides new information while maintaining a sense of mystery. It is also interesting to watch this group struggle with both witches and Nazism, knowing the choices they make have an impact on both groups. I look forward to reading more of this series.
The Art: This issue is engaging and appropriately creepy. Connell’s detailed artwork is enhanced by the rich color work of Madsen. And the tone is perfectly captured. Each page does an excellent job of enhancing the tale.
