The Rundown: A supernatural group attempt to rescue Yelena. Lady Baltimore and her friends face an international challenge.
Lady Baltimore’s base is attacked by magical beings. During the fight, Imogen shows an enhanced ability when stopping an enemy. Afterwards, Rigo, Imogen, and Sofia discuss ways to gain information from the captured Yelena. Later, Sofia and her friends meet with a group of European allies, and surprising events are revealed. Then, suddenly, the group is involved in an deadly attack and they must decide how to proceed.
The Story: Mignola and Golden have crafted a gripping tale filled with horror and mystery. This issue is a page turner as each scene reveals something new about the characters. The cliffhanger ending is extremely shocking, and I was left impatient for more. I am definitely looking forward to the next issue.
The Art: Connell’s detailed drawings combined with Madsen’s muted color work perfectly capture the tone of this issue. The panels are engaging and creepy. I felt completely immersed in the world of the story.
