The Rundown: Kroma loses and friend and gains her freedom in a harsh and unforgiving world.
After being attacked by the man keeping her prisoner, Kroma finds herself not only losing her only friend but being threatened with returning to a world of imprisonment and torture. She decides on another option and finds herself outside the city. Makavi sends his best men out into the forest to find her as the sun comes up but they find themselves in danger when more creatures attack.
Kroma finds herself being rescued by a strange man who came from the city but lives out in the world. A man who seems to know things not only about the forest and the world, but also about her. A man who might not be entirely trustworthy.
The Story: A moving, emotional and thrilling second issue from De Felici. The character continues to be engaging and the world of the story continues to be compelling and interesting as well. I love the progression of this story and how natural it seems. I like that there is still so much mystery to be explored while the story raises the stakes and dangers for the character.
The Art: De Felici delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals are fun, thrilling and visually engaging.
